Boniva has been agreed by the American food and Drug Agency (FDA) as a generic drug that is able to strengthen the bones in the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis.

The first version of the generic drug that is issued by Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc and Apotex Inc. is recommended to be consumed once in a month.

The website Drugs.com said that Boniva or Ibandronate effectively could slow bone fragility, increase bone mass, and also speeds up the growth cycle of bone.

Here is the important information about Boniva:
1. It is preventive osteoporosis drug that is specifically used for women.
2. Boniva can cause serious problems in the stomach or esophagus. Make sure you remain upright for at least 60 minutes after taking this medication.
3. After taking Boniva, you are only allowed to consume white water. It is not recommended to eat or consume vitamins at least one hour after taking this medicine.
